On Wednesday May 14th at 7:00 PM, S.T.O.P. is hosting its second annual stand-up comedy fundraiser. Meet us at Caveat—one of New York’s hottest comedy venues—to compliment your Wednesday evening with a full-service bar and a full serving of punchlines.
If you missed it last year, here’s your chance to catch the laughs and make a difference. If you came last year, we can’t wait to see you again with even more great comedians, Caveat’s exciting atmosphere, and a new sense of urgency in fighting surveillance technologies for New Yorkers and everyone! Here are the performers:
Kate Willett is a comedian, actress and writer who has appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Netflix’s Comedy Lineup. She’s the author of the Audible Original “Dirtbag Anthropology.” She’s the cohost of the political comedy podcast Reply Guys and has written jokes for your favorite boys, Beavis and Butthead.
Naomi Karavani is a comedian and writer based in New York City who’s known for her sardonic wit and captivating stories. Her debut album "Firecracker" produced by Comedy Records can be heard on SiriusXM. She was a writer and cast member of the political satire show Redacted Tonight for five years. Her hour-long solo show “Dominant” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival received rave reviews.
Kenice Mobley is a standup comedian and filmmaker who lives in Brooklyn, New York. Kenice performs stand up comedy around the world and recently made her late night debut on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She’s been featured as one of Vulture’s Comedians You Should and WiIll Know, performed at the Netflix is A Joke Festival as part of the taped show “Introducing….”, and premiered her solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Mohanad Elshieky is a New York-based, Libyan-born comedian who made his national TV debut on Conan, appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and has been featured on Comedy Central and Don't Tell Comedy. He has toured across the country with the critically acclaimed storytelling show Pop-Up Magazine. Mohanad is currently a writer and consultant for the hit podcast Lovett or Leave It and was one of the hosts of Lemonada Media’s podcast I’m Sorry. Known for his deceptively laid-back demeanor and whip-smart perspective on politics and culture, he combines sharp humor with incisive commentary.
Pat Burtscher was born in Austria via a Greek woman, raised in Canada, and is currently based in NYC, where he's a regular at The Comedy Cellar and other cool places. He also headlines clubs and does festivals all around the world (JFL, Edinburgh, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, New York Comedy Festival, and other cool stuff). Pat has also toured with Burt Kreischer, Brett Goldstein, Steph Tolev and other cool people.
Jonathan van Halem is a stand-up comedian based in Brooklyn, New York. He currently works at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and previously worked at Stephen Colbert Presents Tooning Out The News. He’s also served as a contributor to the parody website Clickhole.
