Friend,
Back in 2021, Citi Field was one of the first stadiums in the country to introduce dangerous facial recognition ticketing for baseball fans, and now this tech is spreading to other stadiums across the country through a program called “Go-Ahead Entry”. The system uses AI-powered tech to scan people’s faces and identify them as they walk into the arena. Not only is it creepy, but the potential for abuse of the data collected through facial recognition tools is also endless –– from data sharing with police departments, to hackers stealing people’s identities, to manipulative and invasive advertising.
We need to put a stop to the spread of this tech in the baseball world. That’s why S.T.O.P. is partnering with Fight for the Future to organize a protest at Citi Field, to say NO to biometric ticketing!

Everyone deserves to feel safe while watching their favorite team. Right now, some facial recognition ticketing programs are in pilot phase, which means if enough people show opposition, we could stop this technology from spreading. Join us on Wednesday, August 21, to fight for stadiums that are free from biometric surveillance (followed by free lunch :) – RSVP here.
