Friend,   Elections in New York City are just around the corner, and as our city begins to reopen after this extraordinarily difficult year, the stakes could not be higher.   S.T.O.P. does not endorse any candidates, but we think it’s important to track what candidates are saying about surveillance. Our candidate survey shows strong support for ending surveillance like facial recognition across NYC races.  87.5% of responding candidates agree that New York needs to ban facial recognition, but we don’t need to wait for election day to enact change.
