The NYPD wanted to know how we really felt...

Friend,

The NYPD is not only tracking your face, your phone, and your license plate – now they’re tracking your opinion. How does that make you feel?

Since 2016, the NYPD has spent over $3 million on a “sentiment meter” that measures New Yorkers’ attitudes about police on a scale of 1 to 10. That’s right: instead of listening to our communities’ demands to defund the police and mass surveillance, the NYPD has done the opposite. Instead, they spend tax dollars to secretly track public opinion, while hiding the program from the public.

The law is clear, New Yorkers have the right to know how and why they are being watched. But the NYPD has ignored our demands for nearly a full year – so we’re taking them back to court.

We’ve let the NYPD know how we really feel about their “sentiment”-tracking, but we need you to join us. Show how you feel about this creepy technology by making a tax-deductible donation to S.T.O.P. today.

With thanks,
Sam Van Doran
