#KnowYourRights resources are making ICE mad

S.T.O.P.’s latest reports are a warning for Trump 2.0
Friend,

It’s been infuriating to see the rapid rollout of Trump’s hateful agenda across the country. As we close out January, ICE’s nationwide raids have devastated immigrant families and communities, with the Trump administration issuing a quota of 1,200-1,500 arrests per day.

Here in New York, a centuries-long beacon for immigration, ICE has infiltrated neighborhoods with the enthusiastic support of Mayor Eric Adams and Governor Kathy Hochul. The effects of this are already visible on city streets, with immigrant vendors parking their food carts and shuttering produce stands to avoid targeting by ICE.

But amid all this heartbreak, we’ve learned how much power we do have to fight back. This week, Trump’s “border czar” ranted to CNN that Know Your Rights trainings and resources are making it “very difficult” for ICE to carry out its mission in “well-educated” sanctuary cities.

Earlier this month, S.T.O.P. joined the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) to provide a digital self-defense Know Your Rights training for immigrant advocates and communities, sharing best practices against surveillance by ICE and law enforcement. Learn more here if you are interested in hosting S.T.O.P. for a training at your organization or in your community. We also encourage you to review and share Know Your Rights resources from our friends at the NYIC, Immigrant Defense Project, and Make The Road.

Organizing works, and the Trump administration is mad about it. Let’s keep making their job miserable.
In solidarity,
