Transforming Policy, Thanks To You!

Thanksgiving will look very different this year. But while COVID-19 will keep many of us apart, the meaning remains. And here at S.T.O.P., we have a lot to be thankful for.  This year, we won historic privacy victories for New Yorkers, passing the first NYPD surveillance reforms in a generation. We built a grassroots coalition of hundreds of advocates across the entire state. We’ve shaped the privacy debate, educating politicians, journalists, and community members about dangerous spy tools and our rights. We’ve quickly become a thought leader on these issues – and a force to be reckoned with.   None of this would have been possible without you. From our founding members – who took a chance on an ambitious new organization – to those who donated this week, your support transformed S.T.O.P. from a simple idea into a powerful movement for change. We’ve had our work cut out for us in 2020, and every donation and volunteer hour has helped us build a stronger S.T.O.P.
